This weekend we went to Omaha for the annual BRK meeting. (We're not secret millionaires, we own a couple of shares of BRK B). There are a few fun things about the BRK meeting: the annual movie is usually a good laugh, DQ Dilly Bars are $1 (and the $1 goes to charity), the exhibit hall is a huge shopping extravaganza where the BRK companies strut and sell their stuff. The kids don't love going, but the promise of Dilly bars and fudge pops certainly helps. I was hoping to get Nicholas some new underwear (Fruit of the Loom), get a new kitchen gadget or two (Pampered Chef), and who knows what I would find at Nebraska Furniture Mart!
This year, we had an additional goal. Abby's class has been working on a reading project where one of her little stuffed animals, a dog she named Rocksy, is supposed to travel with family and friends, send Abby's class postcards, and write in a journal. (If you have kids and have done a Flat Stanley project... same concept but with a stuffed animal.) Rocksy came with us to Omaha, and to the BRK meeting where we decided to get pictures of Rocksy with as many "famous" people as we could.
Rocksy posed with Charlie Munger - Vice-Chairman of the BRK Board - OK, his video image. But Rocksy did get to meet the Fruit of the Loom guys, the Geiko Gecko and.... a Harlem Globe Trotter:
Although I have this photo from the "front" - this is the photo that appeared in the Omaha World-Herald on Sunday, May 6. How cute is she?
